Young Waitress (Italia) is a character in Season Eight of the Showtime series DEXTER.
Dexter Morgan refuses to let her serve alcohol to Debra Morgan.
Summary[]
Debra, living with guilt and depression for having shot Maria LaGuerta. is drinking heavily. When she almost receives a DUI, Dexter decides to have a talk with her. He shows up at Elway Investigations and pressures Debra to have dinner with him. He takes her to Italia and she asks what they’re doing in this “hell hole.” As they sit at their table, a young waitress asks to take their drink order.
Waitress: “Can I get you something to drink? We have a wide array of signature cocktails.”
Debra: “Yeah, I'll take a Bourbon, neat. Thank you.”
Dexter: (firmly, to waitress) “Uh, two Cokes, please.”
The waitress nods understandingly at Dexter and goes off to get the non-alcoholic drinks.
Debra: (to Dexter) “I knew this was a mistake.”
Dexter: “I wanted to show you something. You see that man over there?”
Debra: “The father?”
Dexter: “Yeah. Does he look familiar?”
Debra: “Fuck if I know.”
Dexter shows Debra the video of the restaurant shooting when she acted heroically. He says the family man is one of the people she saved that day, and tries to convince her that she is a good person. Debra listens to him, and then states that she is starving.
