She delivers a package to the Miami Metro Homicide Department that was sent by The Ice Truck Killer.
Summary[]
Debra Morgan is sitting at her desk at work, eating a piece of Kirk Bliloc’s birthday cake. James Doakes teases her about the cake being old.
Nearby, a young clerk opens a box and inside finds a jar filled with a red substance. She takes it out and holds it up.
Clerk: “Guys, you should look at this."
Doakes: “Put that thing down, for God’s sake.”
Clerk: “It was addressed to Homicide.”
Doakes: “Put it down!”
Deb: “Jesus, is that blood?”
Doakes: Morgan, get your ass over here."
Dexter: “Ass en route.”
Doakes: “You’re the blood expert. What is this shit?”
Dexter: “It’s a little watery for jam.”
Clerk: (arrogantly) “Maybe you should open it.”
Dexter: “What if there’s an airborne toxin in here waiting to be released?”
Clerk: “I got to wash my hands.” (hurries off)
Dexter: “So gullible.”
Maria: “What is it?”
Dexter: “Well, it’s definitely blood. Wait, there’s something in here. Marina View Hotel. It’s a key. May be some sort of promotional gag. You know, stay the weekend, you get a jar of blood.”
Maria: “Show and Tell is over. Lets’ try and find out who sent this.”
Since Angel Batista is busy with another case, Doakes and Debra visit the hotel. They are shocked when they find Room 103 completely drenched in blood.
