Young Babysitter is a character in Season Two of the Showtime series DEXTER.
Rita Bennett hires her to watch Cody and Astor for one night.
Summary[]
Dexter Morgan has a date planned with Rita, but he'd rather hunt Little China. He calls her while he’s packing up his kill tools.
Dexter: “I need your help. I know how much you were looking forward to going out tonight, but I think Deb could use you more.”
Rita: “Now, Dexter, this isn’t about this morning, is it?” [He was unable to perform in the bedroom.]
Dexter: “No, No. I swear. No, this is for Deb. She had her first day at work today, and LaGuerta was kind of rough on her.”
Debra bangs on his door, ordering him to let her in. He yells at Debra to hold on.
Dexter: [to Rita] “Look, I'm no expert, but I think Deb could use some girl time tonight.”
Rita: “Well, I won't lie. I'm a little disappointed, but I know your heart's in the right place.”
Dexter: “Absolutely.”
Rita: “Okay. Whatever you need, Dexter.”
Dexter: “Thank you, Rita. I will make this up to you. I'm gonna have Deb pick you up in a half-hour, okay? Bye.”
He unlocks the door for Debra and she immediately heads to the treadmill.
Dexter: “I, uh, double booked when I made plans to go out with Rita tonight. I forgot that I had promised to sub for another bowling team.”
Debra: “Why do you look so happy about it?”
Dexter: “I like bowling. What can I say? Look, will you take Rita out for me? She hired a babysitter and everything.”
Debra: [running on treadmill] “No way. I need to work out.”
Dexter: “Actually, you need to stop working out. It's getting unhealthy. Why don’t you go out for some hard liquor instead?”
Debra: “Mnh-mnh. Sorry, bro.”
Dexter: “Deb, please! When do I ever ask you for anything?”
Debra: [turning off treadmill] “You bung hole. Why did you have to put it that way?”
Dexter: [rushing out] “She's expecting you in a half an hour. You're a lifesaver.”
Meanwhile, Rita gives instructions to the babysitter.
Rita: “Don't worry about washing their hair, and read to them before bed.”
Babysitter: “Okay, got it.”
Just then, Rita’s phone rings and she hurries into the kitchen to answer it, with the babysitter following her.
Woman’s voice: “You have a collect call from Paul Bennett. Will you accept the charges?”
Rita: “Yes, I'll accept the charges.”
Rita notices the babysitter listening, so she excuses herself and goes into a bedroom, closing the door.
Paul begs Rita to look for his missing shoe. When she admits that she found it, he’s elated. However, she warns him that if he sends a lawyer to her house, the shoe won’t be there. Rita says she’s finally in a healthy relationship and she won’t bail out her abusive ex-husband! While Rita is talking to Paul, someone knocks on the bedroom door, and she ends the call. Paul flies into a rage and is killed off-screen in an inmate altercation.

On this same night, Debra breaks the nose of a man who touched her shoulder, Little Chino escapes from a kill room, and Dexter learns that scuba divers discovered his dumping spot in the ocean.
