Vince Masuka is a character in the Showtime series Dexter: Original Sin.
Masuka serves as the “number 2” in Miami Metro Forensics, working under CSI Chief Tanya Martin. Outside of his work, he has a one-of-a-kind fixation on women that leads his coworkers to conclude that he’s “better in small doses” due to his perverse, party nature.
He immediately takes a liking to Dexter Morgan whom he sees potential in as a forensic intern and later “number three” when he earns a promotion following the Nicky Spencer Case. He and Dexter would work side by side for the next two decades.

- Masuka is technically the first Miami Metro character shown in the series after Dexter, appearing after Dexter’s autopsy demonstration at the University of Miami. He is also introduced as a more serious character on that crime scene, only revealing his signature nature later on.
- Additionally he is also the first member of the Miami Metro “family” to meet Dexter, having hosted a forensics booth at the university. Naturally his fixation on college girls distracted him from talking to anyone else who might be interested though he did take notice of Dexter’s keen observation skills when connecting two crime scene photos.
- During the original series it was never established who else worked in Miami Metro Forensics outside of random lower level techs and Dexter himself. Original Sin established that he works under a lady boss, which despite the jokes he could make from that, he seems to be fairly reserved around her.
