Dexter is in court to give blood report testimony against a criminal. He sits hunched over in the witness stand as the lawyer begins to question him.
Trial Lawyer: “Please state your name and occupation.”
Dexter: “My name is Dexter Morgan, and I’m a forensics specialist in blood-spatter analysis for the Miami Metro Police Department.”
Trial Lawyer: “And how long have you been doing blood-spatter analysis, Mr. Morgan?”
Dexter: “Almost 12 years.”
Trial Lawyer: “You’ve been involved in quite a few cases, then.”
Dexter: “2,103.”
Trial Lawyer: “Give or take.”
Dexter: “No, 2,103.”
Trial Lawyer: “Then it’s safe to say blood is your life.”
Dexter: (smiling) “Safe to say.”
