Sundance Motel
Sundance Motel is a location in Season Seven of the Showtime series DEXTER.
It’s an inexpensive motor lodge where Dexter and Debra spend a night hiding from Isaak Sirko.
Summary[]
Dexter meets with Debra in a parking garage and warns her that Isaak Sirko is coming after him and she could also be in danger. He insists they take precautions because Isaak might be watching the precinct and her house. He plans for them to stay in a place where no one knows who they are or asks any questions.
That night, Dexter sits at a table in a motel room as he researches Isaak, the Koshka Brotherhood, and Columbian gangs on a laptop. Debra appears at the bathroom doorway, holding a toothbrush.
Debra: “The goddamn shower has two settings -- scalding and freezing.”
Dexter: “It's a cheap motel. That's the point.”
Debra: “I'm not doing this another night.”
Dexter: “Hopefully you won't have to.”
Debra: “Does that mean you're working on a solution?”
Dexter: [closing the laptop] “I have a plan, yes.”
Debra: “Does it involve you killing someone?”
Dexter: “I'm not killing anybody.”
Debra pulls back the blankets on one of the beds.
Dexter: “That's my bed... closest to the door.”
She glares at him for a moment, then moves to the other bed.
Debra: “Tell me your plan.”
Dexter: “No.”
Debra: “Dexter, I'm hiding out in this fucking motel room. I'm a part of this.”
Dexter: “But not any more than you need to be.”
He changes his pants as Debra gets into bed.
Debra: [sighs] “This is not how I ever imagined spending tonight.”
Dexter: “We've stayed in hotel rooms before.”
As he takes off his shirt, Debra glances over at Dexter.
Debra: “Yeah, when we went to Myrtle Beach to visit mom's sister.”
Dexter reaches for the lamp on the dresser, turns it off, and gets into bed.
Dexter: “There were sea shells embedded in the plaster on the walls... no air-conditioning, just ceiling fans.”
Debra: “There was sand from the beach everywhere, even in the beds.” [glances at Dexter again] “You kept your eyes on me all day.”
Dexter: “I didn't want you to drown.”
Debra: [looking over at him] “You were my hero.”
