State Trooper Dennis is a character in the Showtime special event series Dexter: New Blood.
He meets with Police Chief Angela Bishop to discuss the case of a missing girl.
Summary[]
Jim (aka Dexter) refuses to sell Matt Caldwell a high-powered rifle because of a hold on his federal background check. Matt pressures Dexter to sell him the gun anyway, but Dexter holds firm.
After Matt leaves the store, Dexter walks over to the police station to see Angela. As soon as he enters, Esther the dispatcher asks, “Jim, I heard a red flag came up on Matt Caldwell. Seems like trouble follows Caldwell the Lesser wherever he goes.” She tells him that Angela is in a meeting so he waits. Esther and Sergeant Logan begin discussing Matt’s shady background and his boat crash in Ohio.
The meeting ends, with Angela and a somber Trooper Dennis exiting an office. She thanks him for his time and promises to let him know if anything else turns up. Dennis just says, “Sure thing. See ya, folks,” and departs.
Angela takes “Jim” back into the room and she hangs up a photo of a missing girl where several others are displayed. She says, “The same as always. No body, no pattern - no case. And no funding. Until one of these women turns up dead.” Dexter replies with “Hey, my money's on you.”
They make plans to go line-dancing later.
