Summary[]
The police are close to discovering that Arthur Mitchell is The Trinity Killer. Dexter needs to buy himself time to kill him, so he devises a plan to frame another person. Dexter looks through a list of Frank Lundy's previous Trinity suspects and settles on Stan Beaudry, a trucker who got away with murder on a technicality.
After dark, Dexter goes to Beaudry's place, which is down a dirt road and out in the middle of nowhere. Beaudry is not there so Dexter enters the unlit, cluttered shack and looks around. He finds a CB radio still blasting, and a calendar indicating that Beaudry is on a truck delivery to Jacksonville. He mulls his next steps.
To obtain Arthur’s DNA, Dexter breaks into his house and steals his hairbrush, comb, and razor.
Dexter tracks Beaudry to a truck stop and kills him inside his semi-truck, after taking a blood slide. Near the driver’s seat, he plants Lundy’s books, a photo of Christine Hill, and strands of hair from Arthur’s hairbrush.
Upon return to Beaudry’s place, Dexter strategically plants Arthur’s toothbrush, razor, comb, and the hammer that Arthur used to kill Earl Doorman.
In the morning, the Miami Metro team arrive at Beaudry’s place. Vince Masuka discovers the toothbrush and comb, and Debra Morgan finds the hammer in a tool box. Outside, Angel Batista tells the press that Beaudry is the prime suspect as The Trinity Killer. Meanwhile, Arthur watches the news report, mystified as to why Beaudry is being blamed for his crimes.
