Reporter (Deb’s Shooting) is a character in Season Eight of the Showtime series DEXTER.

He breaks the news that Debra Morgan is recovering in the hospital after being shot by Oliver Saxon.

Summary[]

Oliver Saxon, bleeding from a gunshot wound inflicted by Debra, sits in a stolen truck deciding what to do. A newscaster is heard on the radio, updating the hurricane’s track.

Newscaster: “The National Hurricane Center is reporting that Laura is now just east of Cuba, with sustained winds topping 100 miles per hour. If it keeps on this current course, it could hit the keys by sundown.”

Saxon exits the vehicle and enters a veterinary clinic. The vet, Dr. Turner, is tending to dogs in cages.

Turner: (to a barking dog) “Shh. It's okay. Shh. Hey. It's okay. It's okay.”
Turner: (noticing Saxon) “Hey, we're closed. Only reason I'm here is to keep the animals calm to--”

Saxon raises a gun and points it at Turner as blood runs down his arm.

Saxon: “Stitch me up.”
Turner: (terrified) “Okay.”
Saxon: (as Turner stitches his arm) “Hurry up.”
Turner: “Almost finished. One more stitch. Please. Just...go. I won't say anything to anyone.”
Anchor Woman (on TV): “Special report about one of Miami's finest, Debra Morgan.”
Saxon: (regarding Deb’s photo) “That's her.”
Male Reporter (on TV): “I'm here at Miami Central Hospital where a detective with Miami Metro Homicide is recovering from surgery after having been shot. We have learned that a deputy marshal died on the scene. The suspect, Oliver Saxon, is still at large and may have carjacked a blue pickup truck. If you have any information about the whereabouts...”
Saxon: (to Turner) “Get your car keys. We're taking a drive.”

When they arrive at the hospital, Saxon cuts out Turner's tongue and sends him inside to cause a distraction.
