Police Dog (also known as K-9) is a canine character in the Showtime series DEXTER.
The dog works for the Miami Metro Police Department.
Summary[]
As Dexter Morgan walked through the parking area toward Miami Metro, his thoughts were on having killed Oscar Prado. Since Oscar didn’t appear to fit the Code of Harry, Dexter was unsure about how to handle the situation.
Suddenly, from inside a nearby police car, a K-9 started to bark furiously at Dexter, causing him stop and glare at the dog. Just then, Angel Batista walked up to Dexter, commenting, “Man’s best friend, eh Dex?” Dexter responded with, “Not today.” Dexter took the opportunity to question Angel on the relationship between Lt. Maria LaGuerta and ADA Miguel Prado.

- If K9s are killed in the line of duty, they get the same honors as their human partners.
- The most commonly used breeds are the German Shepherd, Belgian Malinois, Bloodhound, and Dutch Shepherd.
