Pamela Matthews

Pamela Matthews is an actor, director, writer, editor, and producer.

She plays Miriam in the Showtime special event series Dexter: New Blood.




Her film credits include roles in Night Raiders (2021); Shazam! (2019); Through Black Spruce (2018); A Windigo Tale (2010); Casino Jack (2010); and Divided Loyalties (1990).

Her TV movies include roles in One Dead Indian (2006); and Gross Misconduct: The Life of Brian Spencer (1993).


Her shorts include The Future. It's So Last Week (2009); Divided by Zero (2006); Only the Devil Speaks Cree (2002); Interviews with My Next Girlfriend (2002); and The Girlfriend Interviews (2001).

She teaches Directing & Performance at Ryerson University and is a Professor at Centennial College. Pam also teaches Filmmaking for The American Indian Film Institute's Tribal Touring Program in San Francisco.

Personal Life[]

Pam is Cree from the Sachigo Lake First Nation. She received her Masters Degree in Film Production from York University, completed undergraduate Film Studies at Ryerson University and graduated from Ryerson Theatre School in 1989. Pam studied directing at the Lincoln Center Theater in New York City and at the Royal National Theatre of Great Britain in London, England.


  • In 2003, she received the Gold Medal for Outstanding Academic Achievement from Ryerson University's Department of Film.
