Fender Bender is the fourth of ten episodes in Season One of Dexter: Original Sin.

Synopsis[]

Dexter targets a retired mob hitman (who may still be killing), as Harry works the gruesome murder case of a ten-year-old boy; Deb sneaks into a nightclub with Sofia and meets an exciting new friend.

Trivia[]

  • This episode was filmed in August 2024.
  • Twice during the episode (first at the Jimmy Powell scene then at the final scene of the episode) the Daniel Licht score for the Doomsday Killer can be heard. This is the first use of this theme outside of Season Six from the original series, with Trinity's theme heard during Season Seven as an example of another return theme. The theme itself is not associated with any particular killer in this episode but meant for dramatic tension much like Trinity's theme being used in later seasons.
  • Roberto Sanchez is credited as appearing in this episode despite his only appearance being "previously on" segment usually unaccounted for in the credits.

Goofs[]

  • Nicky is seen playing Sonic the Hedgehog 2 on his Sega Game Gear. Despite this episode being set in 1991, Sonic the Hedgehog 2 would not be released for another year. Additionally, Dexter mentions playing Sonic on TV. The first Sonic game would not be released until June 21, a few weeks after this episode's events going by Dexter's comment about June 4th being an upcoming date.
  • A poster for Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country can be seen on the BlockBuster window. This movie would not be released until December 6, 1991, months after this episode's events. Additionally, the home video release would not occur until June 1992.
