Old Woman is a character in Season Five of the Showtime series DEXTER.
She greets and assists the customers of La Botanica.
Summary[]
Debra Morgan and Cira Manzon, a Spanish-speaking officer, arrive at La Botanica to investigate a beheading case. Cira grew up in the neighborhood and speculates that the killer belongs to a Santeria religious cult. She tells Debra that Fauzi Goberi, the owner of La Botanica, always knows what’s happening in the area.
When Debra and Cira enter the store, they find mostly Christianity-related religious items for sale. An elderly woman behind the counter forces a smile.
Cira: [to woman] “Podemos hablar con Fauzi?” [We can talk with Fauzi?]
Old Woman: Por que razon?” [For what reason?]
'Cira: “Policia. Es importante. Por favor.” [Police. It is important. Please.]
'Old Woman: “Un momento.” [One moment.]
The old woman moves past a door curtain to gain permission from Fauci. When she reappears, she leads Debra and Cira into a back room that holds the darker Santeria merchandise. Fauzi waves the old woman away and she returns to the counter. At first, Fauzi pretends he can’t speak English and offers little help. However, it’s revealed that he can speak English.
The next day, Cira returns by herself to speak with Fauci. Later, he’s found murdered.
