He sneaks fast food into the hospital for Angel Batista.
Summary[]
Angel has been stabbed and is recovering from surgery. Bored with his post-op diet, Officer Wong brings him a bag of burgers. Angel removes the fries, places them on his bed table, and says, “My man Juan, hook it up.” At that moment, Angel’s wife Nina, from whom he’s separated, enters the room with a magazine for Angel.
Nina: “They didn't have Road and Track so…”
Nina: [noticing the food] “That better be a bag of applesauce.”
Angel: [to Wong] “Okay, Juan, at this point, you should go save yourself. Go.” [Wong hurries out.]
Nina: [looking into the bag] “Oh, you got to be kidding me. Two double-meats?”
Angel: “A man's got to eat. You're so cute when you're annoyed. You know, your mouth makes those little O's.”
Nina: “God damn it, Angel, do I look like I'm being fucking cute with you?”
Angel: “Well, not now you don't, no.”
Nina: “Why do you always do this -- make light of things that matter?”
Angel: “Okay, I'm sorry. Okay? When I come home, I'll eat anything you want. No jokes, no complaining -- I promise.”
Nina: “When you come home?”
The have a discussion in which Nina makes it clear that their marriage is over.
