Officer Williams is a character in Season Seven of the Showtime series DEXTER.
He accompanies Captain Maria LaGuerta when she arrests Dexter Morgan.
Summary[]
At his apartment, Dexter plays with Harrison while Jamie Batista cleans up. He answers a knock at the door to find a stern-faced LaGuerta and two police officers.
Dexter: “Captain?”
LaGuerta: “Dexter.”
Dexter: “What are you doing here?”
LaGuerta: (to Jamie) “It might be best if you take Harrison to another room.”
Dexter: “Because?”
Officer Barnes moves over to stand between Jamie and Dexter.
LaGuerta: “Because I'm placing you under arrest for the murder of Hector Estrada.”
Officer Williams handcuffs Dexter.
Jamie: (shocked) “Dexter? Maria, this has to be some sort of mistake.”
LaGuerta: “I wish it was.”
Jamie: “Who the hell's Hector Estrada?”
Barnes: (to Jamie) “I need you to stay back.”
Jamie: (to Barnes) “You get your hands off of me.”
Barnes: (to Jamie) “Stay back.”
Dexter: “Jamie, just take Harrison to his room. Please. It's okay.”
Jamie: (leaving the room with Harrison) “I'm calling Deb.”
LaGuerta: “Dexter Morgan. You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say or do can be used against you in a court of law. You have the right to an attorney. If you cannot afford an attorney, one will be provided for you.”
Back at the station, LaGuerta marches Dexter through the homicide department in handcuffs, causing an uproar.
Angie Miller: “What the hell's going on?”
Jake Simms: “Jesus. LaGuerta arrested Morgan.”
Everyone gathers around, including Angel Batista, Joey Quinn, Michael Soderquist, Israel Yale, and Sergeant Lee.
Angel: (approaching LaGuerta) “Maria, what are you doing?"
LaGuerta: “Out of my way, Angel.”
Angel: “Why is Dexter in handcuffs?”
LaGuerta: “I have proof he's the Bay Harbor Butcher.”
Angel: (raising his voice) “Doakes is the Bay Harbor Butcher. Have you lost your mind?”
Angel: (to Dexter) “Dexter, what is this?”
Dexter: “I don't know.”
Debra: (walking up) “What the fuck?”
Angel: “She thinks that your brother's the Bay Harbor Butcher. How is that even possible?”
Debra: “It's not. Williams, take those things off his fucking wrists right now.”
LaGuerta: (to Williams) “Leave those.”
Debra: “Maria, what are you doing?”
LaGuerta: “Stand down, Lieutenant. Dexter's my prisoner. You're family. You need to recuse yourself. Let's go”
LaGuerta takes Dexter into the interrogation room and accuses him of being the Bay Harbor Butcher. He denies it. Masuka interrupts LaGuerta’s questioning with evidence (planted by Dexter) that seemingly proves Dexter is innocent. Debra accuses LaGuerta of trying to frame Dexter, and he is released. Right after this, LaGuerta encounters Dexter in the elevator and accuses him of setting her up, like he did with James Doakes.
