Officer Oskelwitz is a character in the Showtime original series Dexter: Resurrection.

Oskelwitz is a uniformed officer ("uni") with the New York Police Department and one of the responding officers following a 911 call made after the discovery of Ryan Foster's body.

Summary[]

Following the murder of Ryan Foster, his killer Harrison Morgan chops up and disposes of Ryan's body via trash bags left out for the garbage men to carry away. At the dump the trash is sorted by hand and one of the bags containing two parts of a leg rips open which prompts a 911 Call - it's assumed that Oskelwitz was the responding officer. Following the discovery of the body parts, a call was put into the New York Homicide which prompted the response of Detectives Claudette Wallace and Melvin Oliva.

When the detectives arrive, Oskelwitz greets them and gives them a rundown of the scenario where the leg was found. Claudette asks him if he knows where the trash came from and Oskelwitz responds "Um, y-es?" prompting Claudette to wonder why he's saying that like it's a question. Melvin clarifies that it means "he doesn't know" and she asks why he didn't just say no.

""The...truck the garbage came from has hundreds of stops, thousands of bags. I-I guess that's why--"
"Tell him to stop."
"

Claudette dismisses his explanation and asks where the rest of the body is after seeing only part of a leg. Oskelwitz remains silent and she says that Forensics can't identify a body from a toe-print - they need a hand or a head and Oskelwitz says "Right, umm...." before she cuts him off asking if he has any more information relevant to the investigation. He says that he doesn't..."so why are you still here?". Embarrassed the uni walks off and Melvin comes up to her saying that "you really should be nicer to the unis". Claudette responds "Why should I encourage that incompetence?". Melvin nods then walks over to the Oskelwitz who is standing beside Officer Ross and Oskelwitz asks "what's her deal?". Melvin responds that "she sees things in ways we don't. Watch and learn, officers".

Claudette listens to music as she digs around in the trash, matching the tied up portion of the bag in her hand to any tied the same way. In a matter of minutes they're able to gather up and lay out the complete corpse on a tarp - with the two unis standing in the background observing the detectives work.

Notes[]

  • Melvin introduces Claudette and Himself he says "Officers Wallace and Oliva", while Oskelwitz responds "Afternoon, Detectives". It's possible doesn't always feel the need to say "detective" before his name. However - Oskelwitz responds on this first meeting calling them Detectives, suggesting the line may have just been incorrectly read.
