Oceanfront Casino
Oceanfront Casino is a location in Season Three of the Showtime series DEXTER.
It’s a place where Dexter Morgan and Miguel Prado stalk Billy Fleeter.
Summary[]
Dexter has agreed to let Miguel Prado participate in his next kill. The victim is suggested by Miguel -- Billy Fleeter, a brutal gambling enforcer who kills people for a bookie. To study their target, Dexter and Miguel go to the Oceanfront Casino where Fleeter hangs out.
On their first visit, Dexter tells Miguel they are just there to watch and learn his routine. Fleeter is playing blackjack, while they pretend to play the slot machines. Dexter accidentally mentions the Code and Miguel is curious. Dexter offers a partial explanation, saying it’s a set of rules designed to avoid being caught, based on police experience. Dexter feels that Harry wouldn’t want him to share his secrets.
On their second visit, they find Fleeter drinking at the bar and watching a basketball game on a TV monitor. Miguel shows up dressed, as Dexter puts it, like the Unabomber. Sitting next to Fleeter at the bar, they exchange a few words. When his team loses, Fleeter leaves in a bad temper, insinuating that he is going to go hurt someone. They begin to follow Fleeter, planning to kill him, but on their way out, Miguel is recognized by a stranger in the casino. This results in Dexter calling off the planned killing, since Miguel has been seen in the same place with the proposed victim.
Later, during a meeting on a pier, Miguel persuades Dexter to go ahead with the kill. After they capture Fleeter at his house, Dexter lets Miguel perform the kill in an old casino storage room, with Dexter disposing of the body by himself.
