Nun is a character in Season Six of the Showtime series DEXTER.
She’s a nun who is also a nurse in the retirement home where former priest Nicholas Galway resides.
Summary[]
At The Whore of Babylon Tableau, Dexter discovers a vestment with the label “F.N. Galway.” Later, during an online search, he finds a Father Nicholas Galway, retired Catholic priest, and decides to pay him a visit. At Galway’s retirement home, a nun leads Dexter down hallways, amidst elderly residents until they come to room 110.
Nun: “You understand that Father Galway's dementia has progressed extensively? It isn't likely he'll remember you.”
Dexter thought, I'm not sure if that's good or bad.
Nun: [Knocking on door] “Father?"
Galway: “Yes?”
Nun: “You have a visitor.”
Dexter: [softly, to Nun] “Thank you.”
Alone with Galway, Dexter soon realizes that the ex-priest is living in the memories of his past. He believes that Dexter is a boy named Francis Connolly who has a sister named Mary Grace. Galway insists that Dexter confess his sins and Dexter admits that he has killed a lot of people. Galway appears somewhat confused by this confession but he goes on to absolve Dexter of his sins in the name of the Father, Son, and the Holy Ghost. Dexter thanks the ex-priest and leaves the room to find the Nun waiting.
Nun: “Hmm. It's sad, isn't it? He was a wonderful priest back in the day.”
Dexter: “Yes, he was.”
Nun: “Now half the time, he doesn't know where he is. Some Sunday mornings, he asks to be driven to his church because he thinks he's supposed to lead mass.”
Dexter: [instantly curious] “His church?”
Nun: “Santa Maria de Loreto.”
Dexter: “Right. And that's in...”
Nun: “It's out in Davie. But -- but don't waste your time. It's been abandoned for over twenty years now. Not much left of it. Very sad, huh?”
