Mrs. Doakes is a Character on Showtime's series DEXTER.
She is the mother of Sergeant James Doakes as well as his sisters Jess and Roni Doakes.
Season One
She had been married to Mr. DoWakes, a butcher, who had abused his family. Mr. Doakes was mentioned by both James Doakes and Frank Lundy during the Ice Truck Killer Case.
Mrs. Doakes had wanted her son, James, to come over for a family dinner for quite some time and kept texting him about it. Eventually, he gave in but brought Officer Debra Morgan along to help provide him an excuse to leave early. In reality, she ended up causing him to stay longer as she spent the evening easily getting along with his family.
In a conversation between Dexter and James Doakes while the former imprisoned him, Dexter mentions that no one would miss him. Doakes tells him that he has a family, a mother and sisters. Dexter replies, "That you never visit."
Season Two
She and her daughters were not seen again until after James was killed by Lila West and framed for being the Bay Harbor Butcher. They attended his funeral in a nearly empty church. They are seen sitting together the the front pew, and sobbing. Lieutenant Maria LaGuerta sat behind them, a few pews back, with Dexter Morgan sitting near the doorway.
