Monique was born in Monterey Park, CA, but spent most of her youth in Azusa, CA. She and her brother and two sisters were raised by a single mother from Chihuahua, Mexico.Her high school drama classes brought about a deeper passion for acting. Monique graduated from Cal Poly Pomona with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications. She also spent time at The Stella Adler Academy of Acting in Los Angeles. Thereafter, she joined the traveling theater group Educational Theater Co. which tackled the challenges of today's youth. She has a son.
