Medical Examiner is a character in Season Seven of the Showtime series DEXTER.
He discovers that Jake Kirkwood was never embalmed.
Summary[]
Debra Morgan and Sal Price suspect that Hannah McKay murdered her husband, Jake Kirkwood. Although it’s been ten years since his death, Debra wants to exhume Jake’s body and test for aconite (a poison). The next day, Sal drops by Debra’s office and gives her the address for Jake’s sister, Lori Kirkwood.
Debra meets with Lori and she gives permission for the exhumation. However, when Jake's casket is opened, there's only bones with no tissue to test. The medical examiner tells Debra that the next of kin (Hannah) must have specifically denied an embalming. Lori becomes emotional, saying that it was all for nothing, but Debra promises that she won’t give up.
Later, Sal meets Debra for lunch and she informs him that Jake's body wasn't embalmed so they cannot connect Hannah to his death.
