Laura Lynn Moser is a major character in the Showtime series Dexter: Original Sin.
She is the mother of two boys, Brian Moser and Dexter Morgan with Joe Driscoll. Laura met Detective Harry Morgan whom she introduced to her son Dexter, becoming an informant for him which ultimately led to the Shipping Yard Massacre that resulted in her death along with several other people in front of her two sons.
Her death serves as the pivotal trauma that changed both of her sons into Serial Killers, with Brian becoming the "N.H.I Killer" and the "Ice Truck Killer" and Dexter turning into the "Bay Harbor Butcher".

Laura Moser was born to Dean Moser and Emily Moser on June 20th, 1946. As she became an adult she got involved with a man named Joe Driscoll who have bore her a son, Brian Moser. Several years later she became pregnant with Joe's second child and on February 1st, 1971 at 11:21 PM she gave birth to a healthy baby boy that she affectionally named Dexter Moser.

'And in the Beginning...'[]
Dexter Morgan, Laura's son, who grew up to become the Bay Harbor Butcher...found himself on death's door after a culmination of events throughout his life led to his son Harrison Morgan shooting him in the chest. Dexter fell to the ground and began to bleed out, with Harrison and Dexter's former girlfriend Sheriff Angela Bishop believing him dead. Harrison was allowed to flee and Angela stays behind to clear his prints from the rifle he used. Dexter, however, was still alive...and was rushed to the emergency room where doctors were able to revive his heart.
As Dexter lay on the table barely conscious...his life flashes before his eyes and Laura can be seen in an emergency room giving birth. She grips to the bars of her bed as she delivers the baby...with one of the nurses congratulating her, saying it's a boy. Laura holds her newborn baby close, watching over him as she gives a bright smile and decides to name him Dexter. Dexter proceeds to cry as his mother comforts him and time flashes forward.

Laura Moser is a young Caucasian woman with brown eyes. When she bore her son Dexter she had long, brown hair and wore a gown during the delivery. One of her most distinguishing traits is that she paints each of her fingernails five different colors, an aspect both of her sons remembered into adulthood.
Personality[]
Laura is shown to have a extreme devotion to her children, with a strong caring attitude to her youngest son. When she gave birth to Dexter she was overcome with an urge to smile despite the excruciating pain she endured...and with an affectionate tone she named her son Dexter.
