Latino Deputy is a character in Season Three of the Showtime series DEXTER.
He guards Clemson Galt while he’s at the courthouse, and he highly respects ADA Miguel Prado.
Summary[]
Miguel and Dexter have a plan to help Clemson Galt escape from the courthouse so they can kill him. Dexter’s role is to wait outside in the parking lot while Miguel meets with Galt to slip him a key. As Miguel is being escorted to the holding room, a Latino deputy makes a request.
Deputy: “Mind if I get a picture with you, Jefe [boss]?”
Miguel: “You got a cam... Oh.”
Deputy: “Oh, yeah.”
Miguel: “No problema.”
A second deputy takes a photo of them together as Miguel forces a smile.
Deputy: "Gracias. “Any truth you're gonna run for D.A.?”
Miguel: “Uh... if I do, I'm gonna need your support.”
Deputy: “You got it, Jefe.”
Miguel: “Thanks, Officer.”
The deputy leaves Miguel alone with Galt for a few minutes in the holding room and the key is passed between them. When Miguel exits the room, the deputy closes the door behind him.
Miguel: (to deputy) “Thanks. Hey, have any arrangements been made in case this guy's testimony runs a little long and he has to stay another day?”
Deputy: “We're holding a spot for him in protective at Miami-Dade [County Jail].”
Miguel: “Good man. Appreciate it.”
As he’s walking away, Miguel notices a third deputy heading toward the room. He tries to stop him with a flimsy reason, but the deputy insists that he needs to put a wristband on Galt.
Although Galt manages to escape, an alarm sounds while he’s meeting with Dexter in the parking lot. In the nick of time, Miguel shows up with his car to pick up Dexter and a tranquilized Galt.
