Juan Pablo Aliso (also known by nickname Welsh) is one of the three overarching antagonists (alongside Hector Estrada & Santos Jimenez) in Showtime's DEXTER franchise.

He was one of the three men responsible for murdering Laura Moser and overall Shipping Yard Massacre in 1973. According to Francis and Dexter Morgan, he was shot and killed in a drug deal gone wrong.

History[]

  • According to Season Two's plot, Hector Estrada and two others killed Laura Moser and three other drug thieves and snitches in Estrada's drug empire.
  • Jimenez went free after turning state's evidence. Estrada received life in prison, and Aliso died in a drug deal.
  • Dexter killed Jimenez at the cabin in the Everglades and then killed Estrada in a shipping container.

Summary[]

By Autumn 1973 Miami Metro Police Department identifies Aliso as one of prominent figures in Estrada Organization.

Acting as Hector Estrada's main torturers Santos Jimenez and Aliso cut the finger of Alfredo Ruiz and give it to Laura Moser as a warning of what happens with those lying to Estrada Organization. Secretly, incident is overheard via wire by Harry Morgan and Bobby Watt.

On October 3, 1973 Jimenez and Aliso kidnap Laura Moser and her two sons, Brian Moser and Dexter Moser, at gunpoint. They're transported to Shipping Yard, where after a small speech Hector Estrada and his two enforcers start to execute four people with a chainsaw one by one, last one being Laura Moser. Both kids fully witness the crimes.

In 2006 after working with a therapist Emmett Meridian Dexter Morgan starts to remember little boy (himself, surrounded by blood).

Flashbacks haunt Dexter Morgan for days before eventually intensifying even more after visiting a crime scene at Marina View Hotel later identified as that by the Ice Truck Killer. Upon confronting the fear and reentering the crime scene Morgan remembers Shipping Yard Massacre and Juan Pablo Aliso, one of his mother's killers who held victims as they were being sawn alive with a chainsaw.

Dexter pieces together information and finds out that the crime occurred on October 3, 1973.

As of 2006 Dexter finds out fates of all three killers, including Aliso who was murdered in a drug deal gone wrong. That doesn't stop Dexter of daydreaming of killing him personally.

Notes[]

  • None of the three actors who portray the character are credited, however two actors with a visible face show surprisingly uncanny resemblance.
  • While not exactly hinted, Aliso's death might be the work of Brian Moser as it fits into his early "N.H.I. Killer" modus operandi.
