Jeremy Downs' Lawyer is a character in Season One of the Showtime series DEXTER.
He is a public defender assigned to Jeremy Downs after he is arrested for killing Jason Riech, his second victim.
Summary[]
Jeremy is surprised when Dexter Morgan visits him in jail since he didn’t realize that Dexter works for the police. Dexter demands to know why he killed again. Jeremy reveals that he was trying to feel something, since he normally feels nothing. As Dexter is taking scrapings from under Jeremy’s fingernails, he tells Jeremy they are a lot alike.
While they talk, Detective Pullman enters the room and angrily asks Dexter what the hell he’s doing there. He orders Dexter to get out because he wants ten more minutes alone with this "piece of shit" before his lawyer shows up. When Dexter leaves the room, Pullman orders Jeremy to stand up and then kicks a chair to intimidate him.
Dexter spots a man talking and laughing with an officer in the hall and asks if he’s Jeremy’s lawyer. The man says that he is, and that he's on his way to meet with him. Dexter earnestly tells him, “Sooner would be better. Seriously.” The lawyer, no longer smiling, thanks Dexter and hurries off to check on Jeremy.
