Imani was born in Prince Georges County, Maryland, as Imani Tanae Williams, and grew up in Alexandra, Virginia. After graduating from Friendly High School, she attended Trinity Washington University in Washington D.C. on a full basketball scholarship. She then transferred to Frostburg State University. She eventually moved to Miami, Florida, and began modeling. Months later, she relocated to Los Angeles, California, to pursue an acting career. [1]
