Hael Baker is a character in Season Seven of the Showtime series DEXTER.

He was an abusive counselor who was murdered by Hannah McKay.

Summary

Pretending to be a fan, Dexter introduces himself to Sal Price, a crime writer, while he’s getting coffee. He persuades Sal to tell him highlights of the new book he’s writing about Hannah McKay.

Sal: “Right out of juvie, Hannah moves into a halfway house. Seems like all's going well, until she accuses some counselor of abusing her, sexually.”
Dexter: “So what happened?”
Sal: “Nothing. Guy gets a slap on the wrist. But a couple of weeks later, he drops dead. Rat poisoning. Sound like a coincidence to you?”
Dexter: "Wow, I don't know."

Hannah’s father, Clint McKay, tries to blackmail Dexter for $20,000.

Clint: “I have some information that could be very damaging to Hannah. Now, I could give this information to the police, or you could pay me a nice, tidy sum to keep it to myself.”
Dexter: “What are you talking about?”
Clint: “When Hannah got out of juvie, she killed a counselor at a halfway house. She fed him rat poison. Her roommate, little gal named Arlene Shram, saw her do it with her own two eyes. I figured the cops could get her to spill her guts.”
Dexter: “You're lying. I read Sal Price's book on Hannah. He mentioned the counselor but nothing about the roommate.”
Clint: “Because I hadn't told him about it yet.”
Dexter: “What?”
Clint: “Where do you think he was getting all those juicy, little plums? Price was paying me to dish dirt on my daughter. But I was saving the good stuff for a bigger payday. Then the son of a bitch went belly-up, and...pfft. There went my meal ticket.”
Dexter: “You'd sell your own daughter out for a crawfish farm?”
Clint: “Fuck crawfish, man. I'm up to my ears in gambling debt. But you do what you gotta do. So you going to give me my money, or do I send Hannah to jail?”
Dexter: “Get out of here before you see my bad side.”

Later, Hannah confirms to Dexter that Arlene did witness her poisoning the counselor.

Debra Morgan, following up on a message left by Clint McKay, pays a visit to Arlene. They sit at a picnic table in the backyard and talk while Arlene’s two kids play nearby. After a few minutes, Debra brings up the reason she is there.

Arlene: “Why would I be going to jail?”
Debra: “As an accessory to murder.” [She brings out a photo of Hael Baker.] “He was a counselor at a halfway house where you resided about ten years ago. Someone spiked his coffee with rat poison.”
Arlene: “I don't have any idea what you're talking about.”
Debra: “I'm not after you. I'm after Hannah McKay. She was your roommate at the time of the murder. And I know it was her idea, but you had some part in it. You either helped or you kept quiet.”
Arlene: “What do you want from me?”
Debra: “I want to know exactly what happened. And in return I will promise you immunity from prosecution, I will keep you out of jail, and I'll make sure that your kids have their mother to put presents under the tree.”
Arlene: “I'd like some time to think about this.”
Debra: “Okay, do that. And play with your kids. 'Cause, depending on what you decide, you might not get to do that for a really long time.”
