Gervasio César Martez is a character in the Dexter Novels.
He was a security guard who worked at the building site where Dexter Morgan killed Jamie Jaworski.

Gervasio was a "fat, olive-skinned young man with black hair and a wispy black mustache."
Summary[]
While Dexter is "working on" a still living Jamie Jaworski at a construction site, he hears the static of a guard's radio outside. He considers killing the guard, too, but decides he can't because he's an innocent. He rashly slashes Jamie's throat, annoyed that he can't continue his torture.
Through a window, he spots the guard's parked golf cart. Dexter leaves Jamie amid a fountain of blood as the guard enters the building from the opposite direction. Dexter escapes through a second floor window and takes off in his car..
Dexter's thoughts, after reading Gervasio's police statement:
"Gervasio César Martez was a security guard, employed by Sago Security Systems.He had worked for them for fourteen months and had no criminal record. Martez had found the body at approximately 10:17 PM and immediately made a quick search of the area before calling police. He wanted to catch the pendejo who had done this thing because no one should do such things and they had done it when he, Gervasio, was on the job. That was like they had done it to him, you know? So he would catch the monster himself. But this had not been possible. There was no sign of the perpetrator, not anywhere, and so he had called the police."
