She was a model who was killed and fed to alligators.
Estrella was a single woman born in Nicaragua who immigrated to the U.S. on a Student Visa which later expired. She worked as a cocktail waitress and occasionally modelled for a famous photographer named Jonathan Farrow.
Apparently, Farrow would beat Estrella a little to make his photo shots look disturbing and then send her on her way. One evening, she was called back to the studio by Farrow's assistant, Timothy Brand, where he bashed her head. She tried to escape but he killed her with a second blow to the head.
Afterwards, Brand fed her remains to alligators in the Everglades to dispose of the evidence. Her arm was found by a man when he cut open a gator. An investigation led to Brand being arrested and charged with her murder. He confessed to three other murders and was sent to prison.
- Incorrect labeling on Estrella's Visa. She was 19 years old so her birth date should be 1990.
- Farrow describes Estrella as F.O.J.J. (Fresh Off the Jumbo Jet).
