Dr. Lorre is a character in Season Five of the Showtime series DEXTER.
He evaluates Boyd Fowler after he’s injected with M99 by Dexter Morgan.
Summary[]
Dexter has lured Boyd to an isolated area where he plans to kill him. When Boyd turns his back to search for a dead alligator, Dexter sticks a needle of M99 into his neck. However, Boyd is carrying an animal tranquilizer gun and does something Dexter doesn’t expect. He whirls around and shoots Dexter with a dart. They both fall to the ground and pass out. A motorist spots Boyd and Dexter and calls 9-1-1. They are rushed to the County Medical Hospital in the same ambulance, all while giving each other dirty looks. When questioned by the paramedic, Boyd claims that he accidentally shot Dexter with a dart, and he was so upset, he passed out.
Once they arrive at the hospital, the two are rolled in on stretchers, staring menacingly at each other. Boyd is taken to a private area, where a curtain separates him from Dexter. Dr. Lorre enters and asks Boyd questions while a med tech attaches monitors to him. Meanwhile, Boyd tries to keep an eye on Dexter through the curtain.
Dr. Lorre: (to nurse) “Chart."
Dr. Lorre: (to Boyd) "I’m Dr. Lorre. I understand you suffered a loss of consciousness.”
Boyd: “That’s what I’m told.”
Dr. Lorre: “That ever happen before?”
Boyd: “Um...first time.”
Dr. Lorre: “You have any history of headaches, dizziness, blurred vision?”
Boyd: “Uh-uh.”
Dr. Lorre: “Hypoglycemia?”
Boyd: “Not that I know of.”
Dr. Lorre: “Okay. We’re gonna run a chem profile and check your glucose levels for possible dehydration. We’ll follow up with a tox screen. See if anything’s in your system.”
Med Tech: “I’ll be right back to draw your blood. Just lie still.”
Once the doctor and tech walk out, Boyd leaps to his feet, rips off his tubing, and finds a large pair of scissors. He carefully makes his way to Dexter's bed. However, Dexter has already left the hospital, and so Boyd sneaks out and returns home (where he’s ambushed by Dexter).
