Shawna reaches the rock shelter but Grigsby corners her. Grigbsy attacks her with a knife, but Shawna finds one that Dexter had buried in the sand. As they begin to fight, Dexter appears and shoots Grisby in his leg. When Grigsby cuts Shawna’s leg with his knife, Dexter slices off his hand and kills him. They load Grigsby's body into their vehicle and head back to the ranch. Once there, Dexter and Shawna set the immigrants free and burn Grigsby’s corpse.
Later that night, Shawna tells Dexter that he likes killing a little too much, and he must have done it before. When Dexter asks Shawna what she's going to do about it, she says he owes her two weeks. Then she takes off her clothes.
