Debra Morgan is the tritagonist of the Showtime series Dexter: Original Sin. She is also a main character in the Showtime original series DEXTER and in the Dexter Novels, with a supporting role in Dexter: New Blood.
She is the younger foster-sister of Dexter Morgan and the second biological child of Harry and Doris Morgan, having been born following the tragic death of her older brother Harry Morgan, Jr.. During the course of Original Sin she is still in high school, often spending her time with best friend Sofia and her new boyfriend Gio Martino.

In late 1972, prior to her father Harry Morgan meeting Laura Moser, Debra had an older brother named Harry Morgan, Jr.. The boy was roughly around 3 years old when he tragically drowned in the pool at their home and her mother Doris Morgan arrived home to see her child wheeled into a coroner van. As time went on Harry and Doris continued to try having a baby, being met with repeated failed test after failed test which led Doris to state that "maybe God doesn't want us to replace our baby". Despite the setbacks eventually she would become pregnant, after Harry had started seeing Laura in secret.
Debra Morgan was born on December 7, 1973 to Harry and Doris Morgan in Miami, Florida and would later gain a big brother in Dexter Morgan, whom Harry brought home after a tragic incident where his mother was murdered. Throughout their childhood Debra would become jealous over the time Dexter and her father spent together, however she retained a good heart and still cared deeply about her brother albeit with a bit of resentment.
On May 31st, 1990 her mother Doris passed away leading Debra to a life of drug use and drinking despite being in high school at the time. She often attended parties, her way of cutting loose and enjoying life while her father and brother kept to themselves.

- In a conversation with LaGuerta in 'Business and Pleasure', Harry reveals that Deb's age is 17. Given the events of Original Sin's first season take place in 1991, that means she was born around 1973. This conflicts with the original canon's age for Debra being 1979, as confirmed by an image in Episode 802: Every Silver Lining....
