David Carey Foster (born 1960) is an actor, writer, singer, and producer.

He played Harrison's Surgeon (credited as Doctor) in Showtime’s series DEXTER.

Personal Life

He was born on an American army base in Landstuhl, Germany. David spent his childhood moving around the United States with his family of five, eventually settling in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He attended Eldorado High School, where he became interested in acting. His after-school jobs included landscaping, washing dishes in a dinner theatre, diving for sunken golf balls, cutting railroad ties, and unloading nitroglycerin. After graduating high school in 1978, he won theatre scholarships from the three major universities in New Mexico, deciding to accept Eastern New Mexico University. He and two friends began a singing trio called Pepper Street, after the street they lived on. He currently lives in Los Angeles. California.[1]
