Clarke Caves is a location in the Showtime special event series Dexter: New Blood.

It's the place where Angela Bishop finds the body of her friend, Iris Broussard.

Summary[]

“Too Many Tuna Sandwiches”

At the police station, Angela brainstorms with Sergeant Logan about why Kurt Caldwell lied about Matt being in New York City. She thinks Kurt has his son hidden away somewhere. However, Logan defends Kurt, insisting that he's a good person whom he's known his whole life. Angela tells him to be objective.

As they look at a map of the area, Angela has an idea. She speculates that Kurt doesn't want them to find something in the Clarke Caves, where they were going to search the day after Kurt told the police that Matt was alive. She suggests that Kurt perhaps hid Matt's body there after killing him accidentally during a heated argument. Logan is skeptical.

Angela decides to search the caves the next day, but Logan can't go because he’s coaching a wrestling match against Moose Creek the next night. She then asks Teddy Reed how he feels about a trip to the Caves and he replies, "Sign me up." Logan quickly protests, insisting he can change things around, but Angela tells him to just make sure Iron Lake kicks Moose Creek's ass.

Angela and Teddy take snowmobiles to the remote area where the caves are located. Angela remarks that a cave is the perfect place to hide a body, and Teddy says, if they find a body, it will be his first one.

Upon entering the cave, Angela and Teddy turn on headlamps. They soon find a strange wall that looks man-made and they tear away the rocks to discover a hidden opening. Angela crawls through the space, encountering a rat, until she reaches another bigger cave. She sees a human foot sticking out from a pile of rocks and screams at Teddy to get in there now. When they move the rocks, they find the body of a female. Angela realizes that it's Iris after recognizing jewelry on the wrist.

As Dexter is leaving the wrestling match with Harrison, his phone rings. To Harrison’s annoyance, he takes the call, "It’s Jim. You okay?" Angela answers, "I don’t need Jim. I need Dexter Morgan."

"Skin of Her Teeth"

Dexter meets Angela in the caves and performs an impromptu examination on Iris's body, which is semi-mummified by the cold. Dexter pulls out one of her teeth and notices that skin is on it- she tried to bite her killer. They pull it for DNA. Angela admits she has a theory about who killed Iris - Kurt Caldwell.
