Personal Life[]

Clancy Brown was born in Urbana, Ohio, and had an older sister, Beth (c.1957–64). His mother, Joyce Helen (Eldridge), was a conductor, composer and concert pianist. His father, Clarence J. "Bud" Brown Jr., was a newspaper publisher who helped manage the Brown Publishing Company, the family-owned newspaper business started by Clancy's grandfather, Congressman Clarence J. Brown. From 1965 to 1983, Bud Brown also served as a congressman, in the same seat as his own father, and later as Chairman of the Board of Brown Publishing. The family continued to operate the business until 2010.

Clancy graduated from St. Albans School in Washington, D.C., and Northwestern University. At St. Albans, Clancy performed the role of Deputy Governor Thomas Danforth in The Crucible.

He has been married to Jeanne Johnson since 1993. They have a son and a daughter.

He is a fan of the Cincinnati Reds. [1]

Trivia[]

  • The role of Kurt Caldwell was offered to Tim Robbins and John Cusack before Clancy Brown was cast.
  • Most know that Clancy Brown is the voice for Mr. Krabs in the series SpongeBob SquarePants (1999) but it is interesting in that here in Dexter: New Blood (2021) Clancy owns a place that sells food, (a truck stop) just as he does as Mr. Krabs in SpongeBob SquarePants (1999).
