Brian Moser

Brian Moser Dexter's Inner Guilt

Brian Moser is a minor antagonist in the Showtime series Dexter: Resurrection.[1]

He also acted as the main antagonist of Season One, a posthumous antagonist in Season Two and Season Six in the original series, and the secondary antagonist of its prequel series Dexter: Original Sin.

Following Angel Batista's murder, Brian manifests as an embodiment of Dexter's inner darkness as he had once before following Dexter's murder of Nick. However, this time Dexter doesn't allow himself to be swayed by Brian's urging to give into his dark side, causing Brian to quickly vanish.

Summary[]

Dexter saw a vision of a younger version of him and Brian inside of the shipping container where Laura Moser was murdered. Harry had also mentioned Brian in this scene.

Brian's kill table is one of the items displayed in Leon Prater's Trophy Collection.

Brian appears in a flashback as Dexter talks to Gareth Pike about his brother and wonders what could've been had he and Brian found each other earlier in life.

Leon Prater tries to have Dexter kill Angel Batista on Brian's table.

After Batista's murder, a vision of Brian appears to Dexter, sitting on his kill table and taunting his brother.

Brian continues to taunt Dexter about his situation as he tries to find a way out of the vault. Fed up, Dexter throws Max Bernard Franc's chainsaw at Brain, yelling that he is not going to die in here, causing Brian to disappear and Harry to reappear.

Dexter later uses Brian's kill table to kill Prater.

Quotes[]

"Oops. You did it again. That's what happens when you try to be someone you're not."
"I told Angel to go home."
"Batista couldn't go home. He spent 20 years thinking you were his best friend, and then another 10 mourning your death, only to find out you're a murderous psychopath, and you never actually felt anything for him."
"Then why does his death hurt so much?"
"Because you're still listening to your fake dad instead of your actual brother, your blood. I offered you a life with someone who actually understands you, and you killed me. And then, you got a second chance with Prater's little club, and then you fucked that one up too. And for what? For people like Batista? Your so-called friend, whose dying words were, by the way, "fuck you.""
"I'm glad I killed you when I had the chance.
"

Trivia[]

  • Unlike in previous appearances as one of Dexter's vision, Brian is visibly aged in "And Justice For All..." rather than being at the same age that Dexter had killed him.
  • Compared to his previous appearances, Brian was more taunting of Dexter this time around.
